Living in the moment has been one of my main focuses for the past couple of years. I absolutely value this beautiful time of childhood, and I’ve made it a point to be intentional about the time I have with my loved ones.
I very much love photography for this very reason and have pictures upon pictures of those everyday snapshots. It’s the candid ones that I prefer, the seemingly simple moments in time that make up our precious days.
Recently, I was inspired by a very good friend of mine, who created a post with videos of her special moments. She captured one second each day in order to tell the story of their year. I fell in love with the idea and the challenge to integrate video into my memory “books” and decided to give it a try this month.
What I came to discover was how much beauty was in each and every day. Oftentimes, I would bring out the video camera for the big events, the highlights, but I found that even in the simple moments, there was such blessing. Even the mundane was magical when I stopped to pay attention.
I found that this project opened my eyes to what it meant to truly be present and live wholeheartedly. For me, it began with a grateful heart and a sincere, overflowing love for my family.
To God be the glory.
How do you “hold on” to your special memories?
